Thus far, Frances has meant to me that I am getting some time off from work to spend with my family.
We halted hurricane preparations last night, due to the fact that NHC seemed to think the storm would go further up the coast than here. Don't worry… we are keeping a close eye on the projected path and also satellite imagery, and if it looks like it may be making a turn to the left (west), we'll make our move as well, buttoning up the place and going further inland.
We JUST NOW got our first band from the storm, and it looks like there's a constant 20MPH or so wind, with gusts up near 30. Blustery, but nothing we can't handle.
