The Man, The Myth, The Legend…
The last post that I placed here was in response to an e-mail that I received from a friend of mine at work. The content of the e-mail was from the first link that I attached in the posting.
One minor detail that I forgot, that could have rendered the whole thing moot: Why was I even talking about Clinton? He's not running for office…
Oh well, I guess if the person you really want to criticize - the candidate - doesn't have anything to criticize, you need to go after the next best person.

Mind you, he doesn't believe the crap, but the person who sent it to him is a staunch Republican, and decided to send it.
So, I responded with this, to the entire address list that was on my friend's e-mail:
This is an interesting read… but it leaves out some very important facts:
1) Clinton was not at the helm of the ship called the United States of America on 9/11/2001. George W. Bush was. Read into that statement what you will… If you suspect that I'm laying some of the blame for 9/11 at the feet of the current occupant of the White House, you're not too far off base. Does some of the blame go to Clinton? You bet it does… but he wasn't at the helm that day… Bush was.
2) Clinton's involvement in Serbia didn't cost us 1,000+ American lives, in addition to the 3,000 who perished on 9/11. Not that ANY deaths are acceptable, but at least in the case of Serbia, we didn't lose 1,000 people. How many did we lose there? US forces had zero combat losses in Kosovo and Serbia. Keep in mind that not a single one those 1,000+ who have died has avenged even ONE death that occurred on 9/11. Remember - no link between Iraq and Al Qaeda has ever been established - Dick Cheney himself said this the other night, when pressed on his having before said there was one.
3) Clinton's lies didn't cause our military to spin up and send just about every active duty person into a region that doesn't want us there to begin with.
4) Clinton's getting us involved in Serbia was through NATO. A true alliance, with a true purpose… not some cockamamie “alliance” where we and the UK are the chief components, and the other 28 countries send about 100 troops each just to be presented a token they can cash in later. We did not unilaterally go there to establish a democracy that no one in that country wanted. Can't say the same thing about Bush's interests in Iraq. Whatever happened to having roses thrown at our feet and being welcomed as liberators? Whoopsie… someone forgot to tell the Iraqis that that was how they were supposed to act.
5) None of Clinton's felonious lies were about avenging a death threat “against his daddy.” His lies were about a certain stain on a certain blue dress, and how it got there, after he presumably “did not have sexual relations with that woman, Monica Lewinsky”.
6) Don't know where this person got their facts, but there were mass graves created by Serbs discovered in Kosovo. Here's a 1999 BBC report on it. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/368524.stm. Tell me again where the Weapons of Mass Destruction were stockpiled in Iraq?
Remember, there are now only 25 days until the election. Whichever way you vote, we're going to end up with a man in office who likes to bend the truth to fit their needs. Bush did it with the intelligence on Weapons of Mass Destruction, and so far, it's cost us what, 1,200 innocent soldiers? At least with Kerry we have a semblance of a chance to rebuild some of the shattered alliances that we need to to work in a global economy.
