My mood must be because of the coffee.
It's been an interesting week. Got a new computer, had class - but never did study, started preparing for the GRE, and made contact with a couple of friends. Oh, and watched the presidential and vice presidential debates.
Last night's presidential debate was… okay… Bush did a better job than he did in the previous one, but he seemed to be exasperated by the questions the audience was asking. You know the questions: why are we in Iraq, do you still think it was the right thing to do, what are you doing about the economy. You know… the answers to all of these come with the huff beforehand, and then an admonishment that we need to stay the same course.
The same course is that we stay in Iraq and foist democracy on an unwilling people.
But Kerry has nothing new to offer in this department, so does voting for him really change things?
No, not in terms of his plans, but it does in terms of a potential to give us better relations with our allies again. And perhaps even building new relationships with other countries. I think the chances of this happening with the Bush administration are nil.
I'm not a staunch supporter of Kerry. I have rarely voted a straight democrat ticket, even though that's what I'm registered as. I have rather libertarian leanings… But socially, I'm a liberal, and oh well… that's me.
