I received my “Total Compensation Statement - 2006″ yesterday from my Human Resources department. I must say that I work for a great employer.
As part of my “Total Compensation,” I am entitled to Annual Earnings (my base salary), On-Call pay ($0), Overtime ($0 - I'm exempt from the FLSA), Bonus ($0), Spot Awards ($250 for helping with the e-mail implementation), Allowances (Uniform, Car, Royalties, etc. - $0), Relocation Expenses ($0), Criminal Justice Incentive Pay ($0), and Recognition Awards ($0). Wow… there's a lot of $0 there.
But I must say that I am pleased with my employer's contribution to my retirement (nearly $6,000), and my tuition benefit (nearly $3,100).
In all seriousness… while many view these statements in a cynical light, I do like working here, and generally I do feel appreciated. This statement just kinda helps enumerate the benefits I receive.
